The weather is a bit cooler -the morning walks are requiring a jacket and the sun is definitely not up as often as it feels it ought to be. Making it authentic that school is in full session – most schedules and staffing are now complete and the school calendar starts to look at the myriad of dates that are coming up quick…
It might be nice if we end up keeping daylight savings times to coordinate it with the equinoxes that are spring and fall..
But at least the metaphor of fall and a changing season is linked in with the upcoming acknowledgement that is Truth and Reconciliation Day.. An observance that didn’t seem like it would happen… until more truths of the Kamloops Residential School were unveiled. Appropriate to link it to a month which sees environmental change likewise happen on a daily basis.
