Day 15 (of 2024/25) changing seasons -what fall may bring…

The weather is a bit cooler -the morning walks are requiring a jacket and the sun is definitely not up as often as it feels it ought to be. Making it authentic that school is in full session – most schedules and staffing are now complete and the school calendar starts to look at the myriad of dates that are coming up quick…

It might be nice if we end up keeping daylight savings times to coordinate it with the equinoxes that are spring and fall.. 

But at least the metaphor of fall and a changing season is linked in with the upcoming acknowledgement that is Truth and Reconciliation Day.. An observance that didn’t seem like it would happen… until more truths of the Kamloops Residential School were unveiled. Appropriate to link it to a month which sees environmental change likewise happen on a daily basis.

It is also time for community events like Fall Fairs and Orange Shirt Days. Times showing various evolutions of what community has been and might be… 

School is in full swing and it is one of those times when the morning weather may not hold true by the time the afternoon arrives… so it’s a good time to seek the myth of 10,000 steps (sounds like it really should be 7500… https://apple.news/ArWm_ZK5VSpiS97WsRzrWTw )

It’s time when pumpkin spice feels more right (than August) and debates can begin if it’s too early to decorate for Halloween and thanksgiving (October in Canada) and wonder why is there an aisle featuring December…

Shifting from ice coffees to ‘extra hot’ – at least in the morning until a sudden midafternoon blast of warmth intrudes…

Change is in the air… and upcoming elections are only one part that’s going to keep things uncomfortable…
