Day 23 (of 2024/25) thank you for the music and thank you @whlgiants

I’m not good at asking for funds. My Movember campaign is always about information. I hate sending home pledge forms for Terry Fox or Jump Rope For Heart… and I’m not good ad advocating for funds for a charitable group I work with – though I love the mission: get quality pianos into schools to promote music.  We are all passionate about music programs and love the free play and musical connections that can happen when passionate music educators have great quality equipment (and as a principal, I know or first hand that the budget doesn’t always have room for all the instruments we would love to have in the building!

Sigh… my program had a piano in the common area – a very popular stop for many students – but apparently it belonged to one of the other tenants using our school space who moved out. So ironically even though I’m with a group ThankYouForTheMusic https://thankyouforthemusic.ca  – I don’t have a piano in my building. And I’m not fundraising for my own campus. 

But we are fundraising tonight in a way I like: working with the Vancouver Giants to get some $ via the 50/50 draw. I need to make an appearance (we usually target a Saturday because of work/travel complications) so today was a different day – staying connected with my online school via online meetings – but also meeting with a colleague to prep our cuebc presentation (aiming to make people forget what the keynote was talking about) and doing some work to build our comic book library. 

Lots of fun and though I’m not good at asking for $, it is a charity I literally stand beside!

Thank you Giants for helping but go Blazers cuz I grew up in Lillooet and that was the closest team to cheer…!😇
