Day 81 (of 2024/25) a funny thing happened as i challenge myself with this blog

One of my challenges to myself with this blog is to push myself to communicate differently. I started doing some more of the videos I’ve pushed in the past… I like that this one was noticed by B.C. news icons Jody Vance and Linda Steele: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWKx61yv0Q4

But recently I had a couple students at a volleyball tournament come up and say ‘I follow you on TikTok’ and they aren’t part of my school…

And I’m actually getting some interactions this month as I am doing a series asking questions connected to #blackexcellencemonth with black excellence day coming up on the 15th. And I take the approach that if I hear from one, there are probably 10 others or more at least thinking about it. And today I am restarting #nerdytshirtfriday – not my idea, but a fun education social media share where educators highlight nerdy shirts. Kind of like a casual #bowtietuesday

So today I wondered;

And thrilled to get some shares of Black Panther and Miles Morales in the TikTok comments!

For me it’s a fun extension of this blog (spoiler for other questions on day 79) and a nice break when I need a distraction or to end the day (thus I’m continuing the poor editing that is a hallmark of this text blog)

As for why? I continue to encourage tech (and media) mindsets to include ‘creating’ not just consuming – and if I want to have n occasional distraction, my penance is to put myself into the space as well to better understand who’s there too! Especially if the book/reading fad continues to have more infighting on how to get started😇
