Day 117 (of 2024/25) a great share on failing via @TankTolman
It’s sometimes+ a good idea to go beyond the usual education voices to get some great education connections. Sometimes someone else has the wording just right. That is what I thought when I heard this @TankTolman clip – a great reminder – and why I am against giving zeros and instead look at fails [and insufficient evidence of learning] as opportunities to demonstrate what is not working: https://youtube.com/shorts/g1Gjx6qHv_s?si=eLbcubwNdcvMrLs2
Hello my friend. What seems to be the matter?
You failed? Haha! Good!
My friend, failing is a good thing. It is a lesson. Something that you needed to learn in order to get to where you need to be.
That goal that you want to reach is not … you’re not gonna just get there… it’s not going to be easy.
You may stumble… You may fall. But the strength comes from rising up and learning that lesson and being able to find out what doesn’t work…
‘Cause how will you find out what works if you don’t find out what doesn’t?
Ha
I know it seems silly but failure is necessary. Especially if you’re trying to be the best version of yourself.
Well of course I have failed. Many times. Fail forward!!
Keep forging forward! I believe in you my friend. Okay? Alright
Come here! Now go fail again!
Failing has value when it is viewed as part of, not an absence of, learning. It’s a tough mindset for those focused on scores admittedly!
Shoutout from one tank to another! <— story share about me as ‘tank’ with in person conversation – keep up the fun and entertaining shares!
