In his annual year end blog, Chris had some good questions… here is question
19. How do we support staff to be both bold and well and not just surviving on caffeine, calendar invites and good intentions?
Humour always helps with me – though I did have a new staff once share that she wasn’t always sure when I was teasing and when I was being serious – so I have opened up more about when I’m talking in comic sans and when its times new roman. As leaders, we gotta model what we want to see.
Which is why it’s time for me to talk about this blogs sponsor: coffee! Whether from a boutique barista or ready-to-go drip… no matter if it’s ice brewed or piping hot – by the time educators get to finish it… it’s room temperature!
Main point from my experience is helping create an environment that allows both “classical music” (research supported practices like PBL) and “jazz” (experimental and possibly not repeatable – as well as any and all other metaphorical genres of music/teaching styles…
