Day 30 (+ of SOL 2025) a reflection after going through @chrkennedy 29 questions
Last tag for awhile Chris – promise! I enjoy your blogs and really liked taking some time each day in July to ponder your queries: https://cultureofyes.ca/2025/06/24/29-questions-im-still-asking-about-education/
I love that the online environment still allows educators to interact asynchronously as well as not having geography as a barrier. I will continue to believe that my principal father would e loved to see the heights of edutwitter – and while not the same in its X era, I believe blogs and websites like Dr Kennedys are going to carry through to more fun discourse… including satires like:
AI Can’t Mark Empathy — “But hey, at least it’s efficient.”
The Learning Management System Now Manages the Learner — “Don’t forget to upload your soul by midnight.”
Humanity 2.0 — Now with Less Mess — “Curiosity removed for your safety.”
I think it is important to keep thinking and rethinking about those things we hold true and continuously check if they still make sense… even if ‘research’ says it should – a regular metaphor I use is in music, likening research to classical music – fabulous, but sometimes jazz… or punk… is the right call – especially if/when”waiting for superman” (good edu-documentary)
I hope more explore the 29 questions Chris prompted on his ‘end of school year’ blog. The more we share our thinking – asynchronously and regardless of your geography… time zone… agreement level… the healthier the discord.
We’ve reached the halfway-ish point of our summer vacation/reset – so thanks again Chris for letting my brain have some fun with some good queries that need to have good answers to for future years of students to flourish in the world of tomorrow!
Will we be upgraded? Dr Who
Is resistance futile? Star Trek
Will we get to a third stage of education? HitchhikersGuide
Don’t Panic! Douglas Adams
42 is a great answer, it’s just that the wrong question may have been asked… unless it’s maybe ‘how many day plans must a teacher create for analysis…? anonymous
