Our school is pretty informal with names – teachers et al (admin) are often referred to by their first name (admittedly many use my last name as many first connected with me as principal of a bricks and mortar school…
Names are a funny thing – North American society loves interesting names and nicknames… even though my first name is pretty short… I still got called “E”… which many ‘name bylaws’ would no longer allow… nor would my football coaches have been allowed to refer to me by my secret nickname (bonus points for those who know 😇)
