Day 51 (of 2025/26) what if ‘it’ came back… #tEChursdAI 3 news stories ~ wonders about iAI / iBook; trade schools not being what some wish they were; and school trustees…

- Comment about trade schools for those hoping that non-academic pathways are still what they used to be: “If they can’t handle middle-school math they can’t program high-tech machines or robotics, or operate the automated equipment found in modern factories and repair shops.” Ford needs workers, but American schools aren’t giving them the education needed https://apple.news/AeS_Qo1ujTO-rFVC5ZXviYg I am curious how much more challenging ‘auto mechanics’ is going to get – a mechanic I enjoy seeing on YouTube, the Car Wizard is planning on retirement in the near future because the needs of new cars are more around ‘disposable’ than ‘tinkering’…
- And are school trustees needed as they used to be? What is parental/community voice and guidance going to be in the 22nd century… https://apple.news/An_3rbPKFTm2wusr1MHqY0Q I’ve always enjoyed the boards of education that I have gotten to work with, and I still see value in having them…. But I haven’t had to deal with a trustee who was hoping some students total be excluded (due to gender among other other biases… we’ve read on the news)… times have changed… could/should community ‘oversight’ do so as well?
- What if a retro tool came back? I had some great learning and collaboration in a classroom based around the ibook – i4 was a fun time where the stupid bell kept getting in the way of ongoing learning… maybe an emphasis on cheap but effective wouldn’t be a bad thing: https://apple.news/AP3r_q6nNRQqKp7fR1AZDdA. I would be all in on a reminagined iBook focused around supporting the good parts of technologizing education! Tim Cook, my resume is on my blog site!!
