Day 70 (of 2024/25) #tEChursday looking for other holiday games… #hanukkah

Last week I shared a few regularly shared ones (I do like the coding puzzle that lights up a tree… https://technolandy.com/2024/12/05/172/

then I thought about some of the other December holidays and wondered what other activities could be explored…

Admittedly, I was a tad underwhelmed. Exploring Judaism, I found a few memory puzzles and math games, but took awhile until I found an interesting menorah game: https://akidsheart.com/holidays/days/gamesdays/PinCandle/PintheHelperCandle.html and even managed to luck out a win:

Online puzzles are still enjoyable: https://akidsheart.com/holidays/days/gamesdays/HanukkahJigsaw1/HJigsawPuzzle1.html

Akidsheart does make an effort at least – https://akidsheart.com/holidays/days/HanukkahGames.html

Google has n embedded dreidel, but https://spinadreidel.com does too – and has the rules to play, not just spin!

Found a trivia game: https://www.chabadrt.org/kids/article_cdo/aid/3522971/jewish/Chanukah-Quiz.htm

Oooh – and an escape room! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdV8V7U0rAPyckePSonaObbhN2GP2FUbEeW7dL6EBhPqwt9rw/viewform?fbzx=-790678073389778254

Not bad for a quick search, but did require exploring some extra pages on the search machines… I admit I was disappointed to start, but at the end feel I have a decent starter list for some sharing before Chanukkah (many varied spellings) that runs this year from Dec 25 – Jan 2. wishing all who celebrate 8 crazy nights of the festival of lights!

I still worry/wonder if I find a themed tie, would it be viewed as cultural appropriation, or appreciation (the intent 🕎)
