It also reminds me that rules for others also mean we gotta think about the rules for ourselves… and I got a little inspired while thinking about my personal/professional growth plan while watching this years season of “The Bear” I started curating my own “non negotiables” – and loved being referred to as a “Gourmet omnivore professional learner” 

I wonder how my non-negotiable will go this year:

Every decision begins with the question: How does this serve student growth, curiosity, and well-being?

Opportunities, tools, and programs are designed so every learner can participate — fairly, meaningfully, and without barriers.

Students and staff must have genuine opportunities to shape learning, assessment, and growth.

Assessment is for/with learning, not of learning. Reflection and iteration are non-negotiable.

Learning lives in relationships: peers, teachers, families, and community partners working together.

Every learner has space to tinker, explore, and create — because learning should spark wonder, not just compliance.
