So, thank you Chris. As superintendent of West Vancouver, your “Culture of Yes” is more than a blog sort, it’s an ethos that shares many positive messages and mindsets.

And amplifying your forum is easy to do.

Your voice comes through.

With Passion.

With Connection.

With Honour.

Your stories resonate.
They influence.
They encourage.

They inform.

So today’s blog is to highlight and emphasize the great read that is www.cultureofyes.ca and specifically the Terry Fox blog for 2026. 

because I didn’t keep (nor make…) a scrapbook, 

but I sure remember so many of those primary source newspaper articles… 

following along the mathaton of hope… 

Each night with Tony Parsons (and Pamela Martin)

being devastated when it ended… 

Fewer of us who were directly impacted are in schools each year…

I remain impressed how many students still connect to him.

I still have the scrapbook.

It is filled with newspaper clippings about Terry Fox that I cut out of the Vancouver Sun, among other newspapers and magazines, as he made his way across Canada in 1980. I was an elementary school student, and like so many Canadians of my generation, I became captivated by this young man with an unusual running stride who was somehow trying to run all the way across the country….
