Day 38 (of 2026/27) annual personal/professional growth plan share
My draft working document (the same as has been going on and shared at technolandy.wordpress.com ) for 2026/27: https://technolandy.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/11/growth-plan-202627.pdf
My submitted Professional Growth Plan is in beta mode right now, but…
What I Am Deepening This Year
This year, I am deepening my inquiry into how emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, can help us rethink the design and purpose of education. Building on Yong Zhao’s Courageous Minority and my developing Think Different(iated) work, I want to explore how we design learning around the diversity of learners rather than expecting learners to conform to standardized structures.
My focus is on the entry and exit points of formal (systemic) K–12 education: how we recognize and support early learning within families and communities before formal schooling, and how we create more flexible, meaningful pathways beyond traditional graduation structures. Across both, I will explore how AI, asynchronous project-based learning, portfolio assessment, and personalized pathways can expand access, honour neurological diversity, and strengthen learner agency.
At Partners in Education, I want to move beyond professional reflection into thoughtful experimentation. Through collaboration with learners, families, educators, and community partners, I will explore what can be prototyped, evaluated, and shared. Innovation must be judged not simply by what technology makes possible, but by whether it creates more inclusive, meaningful, and empowering learning experiences while preserving relationships, ethical responsibility, and high expectations.
My technolandy.com Days of Learning blog, alongside video reflections and Think Different(iated) writing, will continue to serve as a public inquiry journal. By documenting questions, experiments, emerging insights, and reconsidered assumptions, I hope to connect personal growth with collective learning and contribute to a broader conversation about what public education in British Columbia could become.
What if we reimagined not just what happens during school, but how learners enter it and what becomes possible when they leave?

Key 3 Takeaways/Targets for 2026/27:
- Preparing to publish Think Different(iated) as the first in a series of “Landyisms” around education.
- Pushing my thinking on AI and Education (thank you Yong Zhao’s Courageous Minority)
- Doing extra focus on how students enter (Early Years are growing in numbers) and exit (personalized grad paths… I’m becoming a bigger and bigger fan of the neuro-sensitive “Adult Dogwood”)
